For Soho House’s Halloween event, we installed a two-story Willy Wonka bubble room with a team of 25 over one full week, no attachments to floors, walls, or ceilings permitted. That constraint is what separates real Halloween balloon decoration ideas from the generic kind: it takes real engineering to fill a room floor to ceiling with nothing to anchor to but the room itself. Here are Halloween balloon ideas that scale that same level of craft down to any Halloween event in Los Angeles, from a mansion party to a corporate activation.
The brief for Soho House’s Willy Wonka-themed Halloween event was as strict as it gets: nothing could touch the floor, walls, or ceiling. We built a fish-line grid across the full two-story space and floated helium balloons treated with high-float into it, creating a bubble room that held for the entire week the event ran, worked by a team of 25. That’s the kind of scale and rigging most Halloween balloon décor never has to think about, and it’s exactly the standard we bring to smaller events too. You can see more of this work in our portfolio, including the red carpet event styling that shares the same attention to detail.
Los Angeles has a real, well-documented luxury Halloween party scene, invitation-only mansion parties in Bel Air and Beverly Hills that have been covered as LA’s most exclusive Halloween parties in their own right. That’s the kind of event this level of luxury balloon decor for high-end events in LA is built for, not just a corporate note.

A balloon arch in black and orange, accented with metallic silver and eerie purple, is the fastest way to set the tone before guests even step inside, whether that’s a mansion party entrance or the doors of a hospitality venue. Oversized statement balloons built as spiders or other creatures give the arch a real focal point instead of just color.
A balloon wall does the same work at the photo moment. Matte black paired with chrome green and purple, built at real scale, gives guests something worth stopping for, the same instinct behind any strong step-and-repeat.
An overhead installation is where Halloween balloon décor gets closest to what we built at Soho House: black and gray balloons floating above the room, with a few red balloons dripping down for a haunted-house effect, or silver orbz balloons that read like a moonlit sky. This is also where corporate Halloween event décor and influencer event balloon décor tend to land, since both need a room that photographs well from every angle, not just the entrance.
Swap a standard balloon garland palette for one built around the event: Classic runs black, orange, and white. Spooky Chic leans black, silver, and deep purple. Glam Halloween pairs gold, black, and burgundy. Haunted Forest works in green, brown, and mossy tones. Any of these hangs well on a mantel, a staircase, or behind a bar setup.

Not every Halloween event needs to be scary. Pumpkin-inspired centerpieces, stacked orange balloons with green accents, work well for a family gathering or a daytime event, and double as a takeaway for kids. Floating ghost balloons, white helium balloons with a draped fabric or a drawn-on face, suspended at different heights, are effective without tipping into anything too intense.
A balloon cauldron built on a balloon column base, black balloons with green ones bubbling over the top, works as a smaller detail near a snack table rather than a full installation. These smaller-scale looks are also a natural fit if Halloween is one stop in a broader holiday event balloon decor plan that carries through to Thanksgiving and the winter season.
Halloween is one of the busiest nights of the year for event décor, and dates fill early, especially for anything built at real scale. It’s worth being selective about who builds it: we’ve written before about why you should never hire the cheapest balloon company, and a rigged overhead installation is exactly the kind of build where that difference shows.
