Most guides to special event venues in Los Angeles are written by people who’ve never actually installed anything in them. This one is different.
We’ve built balloon installations inside some of these spaces, and for the ones we haven’t, we can tell you what the architecture actually means for the kind of decor that works there, not just the square footage and catering options every other venue guide already covers.
Soho House’s Sunset Blvd location was the site of one of our most demanding builds to date, a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory themed Halloween installation that turned the venue’s lobby into a two-story bubble environment. We weren’t allowed to attach anything to the floor, ceiling, or walls, so we built a fish-line grid and floated helium balloons treated with high float to hold the structure for the full week the installation needed to run. It took a team of 25 and remains one of the largest bubble installations we’ve built inside an existing venue rather than a purpose-built event space.
If you’re considering Soho House for an immersive, fully transformed environment rather than a simple accent piece, this is the kind of build the space can actually support. See more of work like this in our portfolio.
Palazzo Beverly Hills is known for its manicured gardens and Mediterranean-style architecture, the kind of setting that photographs well without much added decor at all. From a decorator’s standpoint, that’s exactly the point: a venue this visually complete doesn’t need a heavy installation to compete with it.
An organic garland along a garden pathway or a single well-placed arch tends to work better here than a large-scale build that fights the existing architecture for attention.
At convention-center scale, the decor conversation changes entirely. Ceiling heights, loading dock access, and the length of your assigned load-in window all determine what’s actually buildable before you get to design choices.
A venue this size can support a full-room installation, but only if the access logistics are worked out well before the event, not the week of. This is a natural fit for corporate event balloon decor and top LA tech conferences alike, where the scale of the space needs to match the scale of the activation.
Vibiana, the former Cathedral of Saint Vibiana, is one of the last surviving 19th-century landmarks in Los Angeles, with a main hall built around soaring vaulted ceilings and grand columns.
That architecture is what makes it a strong candidate for suspended or ceiling-adjacent installation work rather than a floor-level build; the height in the room is the feature worth designing around, not competing with.
It’s a common choice for wedding balloon decor for exactly this reason.
Casa Vertigo’s multi-level layout means installation planning has to account for how guests move between floors, not just what a single room needs.
A garland or arch marking the transition between levels does more work here than trying to build one large statement piece on a single floor. It’s also a fitting scale for something more intimate, like gender reveal balloon decor, where the space doesn’t need to be filled, just marked.
The Novo, in the L.A. LIVE district, is built for high-energy programming, concerts, product reveals, and branded activations where the room needs to read as high production value the moment guests walk in. That makes it a strong fit for influencer event balloon decor and the kind of brand activation and product launch decor that leans on scale and color rather than subtlety.
As a full-service hotel venue, the JW Marriott offers the kind of flexibility a standalone event space can’t, multiple room configurations, in-house catering coordination, and a team already used to working alongside outside vendors.
That last point matters more than people expect: a venue with in-house event staff who already know how to accommodate an installation crew makes the whole build day easier.
As an outdoor amphitheater, the Greek Theatre comes with a consideration most indoor venues don’t: wind.
Any large-scale installation here needs to be engineered for outdoor exposure, not just visual impact, which changes material choices and anchoring methods considerably. Its entertainment history also makes it a natural fit for TV and film production decor work.
Taglyan Complex is known for its European-inspired interior and a large stained-glass ceiling that already does a lot of visual work on its own. The complex’s long-running charitable event history also makes it a fitting venue for non-profit event balloon decor, where the goal is usually elegant rather than maximalist.
SLS Beverly Hills leans stylish and design-forward, which means decor here needs to match a design language that’s already been carefully considered by the hotel itself. It’s a strong setting for holiday event balloon decor, where a refined, seasonal color palette fits the existing aesthetic rather than competing with it.
The Shrine’s history of hosting major award shows and large-scale productions means it’s built for big crowds and big production value, but that scale also means installation logistics (load-in time, rigging points, ceiling access) need to be worked out well in advance. Its production pedigree makes it a natural fit for both red carpet balloon decor and how balloon decor elevates sports marketing at large-scale events.
